Why This Matters Now

For Overseas LPs and International Investors:
Japan is often described as a “deep tech powerhouse,” but few international investors have the opportunity to see the market up close and evaluate its maturity firsthand.
Deep Tech Forum Tokyo is designed to provide that visibility by bringing together:
- Japanese deep tech startups
- Local venture capital firms
- Corporate reverse pitches from major Japanese companies actively investing and partnering in deep tech
Through panels, pitches, and curated networking, LPs gain a clearer view of:
- How investable and interconnected the Japanese deep tech ecosystem really is
- Where co-investment opportunities may exist
- How corporate capital and venture capital interact in practice
This is not a showcase—it is a market reality check.
For Emerging Fund Managers:
For emerging managers, Japanese corporates are not only LPs—they are strategic ecosystem participants.
Deep Tech Forum Tokyo offers:
- Pitching opportunities to Japanese corporates and CVCs
- Direct access to potential strategic LPs seeking exposure to global deep tech ecosystems
- High-signal networking with investors who view VC investments as a way to build long-term sourcing, partnership, and ecosystem access
This is particularly relevant for funds focused on robotics, industrial tech, AI, climate, and other capital-intensive deep tech sectors.
For Japanese Investors & Corporates:
The global venture capital industry is undergoing a paradigm shift:
- Smaller, more specialized funds
- Niche technical focus
- New models of value creation beyond capital alone
Through global VC perspectives and international case studies, Japanese investors and corporates gain:
- A clearer understanding of how U.S. and European VC markets are evolving
- Practical insight into engaging with international investors and LPs
- Foundational knowledge for participating more actively in global venture ecosystems
